METROCON 2009 | "Innovating for Society" | August 17th, 2009

Technical Program

The following are the different tracks we have for this year's MetroCon.

The Emerging Technologies track, a continuing high-tech feature of MetroCon, returns with its usual broad range of “on the edge” hi-tech topics.  This year’s talks cover advances in The Digital Horizon-Pushing the "Bits" Closer to Antennas, Making Space for Business, Printed Electronics Based Upon Ink Jet Technology, Advanced Commuter Rail System, and Video Game Development.

The Software and Systems Engineering  track features critical technologies and cutting-edge developments occurring today in the industry.  This year’s topics include Applying Lean and Production Principles to Software Development, Measuring the Cost of Success in Evolutionary Search, Model-Based Approach to Integrating Avionics Subsystems, Efficient Visual Search and Learning, and The "Simulation Architecture".

The Developing & Deploying Secure Systems track, a new track this year provides an overview of how to develop and deploy secure applications. Topics include Application Security, Software Assurance Practice at Ford, State of Practice Industry, and Building Security.

The Biotechnologies track brings together biotechnologists, academe, and engineers to share the current biomedical industry issues, advances, and successes.  This year’s topics include Trabecular Bone Microdamage, Vision Science Research, Islet Isolation Technology and Transportation for the Treatment of Diabetes, Device based therapy for correcting heart motion, and the Future of Medical Devices.
