HgCdTe Infrared Detectors and Technology at Leonardo DRS
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Sameer Ajmera is currently Director of Focal Plane Array (FPA) and Materials Development at Leonardo DRS in Dallas, TX. His R&D group focuses on the design and fabrication of next generation infrared detectors and avalanche photodiodes (APDs) for ground, air, and space applications. Sameer has decades of experience in microfabrication, semiconductor process development, and thin film deposition and characterization including leading the design and fabrication of next generation amorphous silicon microbolometers and thin-film integration in Cu dual damascene interconnect technology. He has also led technology transfers from low volume R&D fabs to high volume semiconductor foundries. Sameer received a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Chemical Engineering specializing in silicon microchemical reactors and microfluidics. He is active in the DoD infrared community and is currently the Chair of the Materials Committee of the Military Sensing Symposia.
