Garrett Cayce is a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of North Texas, where he conducts research in the OSCAR Lab focused on efficient and ethically responsible signal processing and machine learning. His work explores ways to improve computational performance while ensuring responsible data handling and maintaining high-quality results, bridging the gap between advanced algorithms and practical engineering solutions.

Garrett’s achievements include the Best Student Paper Award at SPIE DCS, multiple first-place finishes in IEEE competitions, and recognition for leadership in IEEE-HKN. With expertise spanning machine learning, computer vision, and digital signal processing, he is passionate about applying intelligent systems that are both effective and conscientious to solve real-world engineering challenges.
